Your entry fee permits you to enter The March of Dimes Touch-A-Truck event.  If you bring additional family members or friends, they must pay fee of $5.00 to enter the area.  (Remember: All the fees collected go to March of Dimes!)

We thought it might be helpful to share the responses to some commonly
asked questions about this Pie & Cupcake contest:

Are Nuts Allowed?
Yes, all nuts are allowed.

Is this a pie/cupcake eating contest?
No.  It’s a pie/cupcake baking contest.  Anyone 15 years and older can enter the pie baking contest and anyone 15 years and older can enter the cupcake baking contest.

However, if you want to eat pie, we need you too! After the judging, all of the homemade pies are available for sale, either by the slice or whole. We won’t keep track of how much or how fast you eat, which is a good thing.

Where do we turn in our pies/cupcakes?
Pies/cupcakes can be dropped off under the tent outside of Kitchen & Cork between 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 14th.  In case of inclement weather, our event will be held indoors beside Kitchen & Cork.

Should the pie be brought at room temperature or warm?
This is entirely up to you. Please know that some contestants bring their pies in hot, and others make their pies the day before. We don’t think that the temperature of the pie upon arrival matters much in determining who the winners are!

What’s the earliest we can turn in our pies/cupcakes?
Pie/cupcake check-in opens at 9:00 am.  All pies/cupcakes MUST be received by 11:00 am. Please remember  DO NOT BE LATE.  We won’t accept your pies/cupcakes for judging after check in has been closed!

Will you REALLY turn my pie/cupcakes away if I’m late?
Yes! We hate to do it, but rules are rules! It is only fair that all contestants have the same time restrictions. Allow yourself plenty of time for baking & parking.

Can I bake my pies in non-disposable pans if I’m all OK with not getting the pans back?
Yes, if you don’t mind losing your pan.  We will not be returning any pans. Any non-disposable pie plates will be donated to our local food pantry.

Why do we need to pay an entry fee?
This is a fundraiser for the March of Dimes.

Why do we need to bake 2 pies/12 cupcakes?
1 pie and 3 of the cupcakes will be used for judging.  The other pie and remaining cupcakes will be sold  to benefit the March of Dimes.

Is this event kid friendly?
Yes! The contests are for 15 year olds and older.  Remember, we will be selling the remaining pies and cupcakes.  What age doesn't like pie and cupcakes? There will be kid activities to keep them entertained.

Is this event pet friendly?
Only service animals are permitted under the tent. Please leave your pets at home.

What if I need to cancel and not participate in the contest?
We have limited registration.  If your plans change and for some reason you won’t be able to attend, let us know so that we can allow others to register! Unfortunately, we will not be able to return your entry fee, but at least it goes to March of Dimes – a great cause!
